Question #1: Shred a lot of paper, suggestions?
I have a lot of paper that I need to shred (Probably over 100 lbs of it, maybe more, I am not sure..but at least 10 boxes of it)
What are your suggestions? I know that most companies come to pick up the paper and then shred it later, is there any way I can see my paper being shredded? Can I rent a powerful shredder that will get this job done? What are my options? I can't just use my standard shredder, it overheats easily.

Question #2: Resume writing questions - easy 10 points?
Hey. I'm applying for a job and I don't have a lot of resume writing experience so here are a few questions I have. Thanks. :)
1. How do I word my education section? Currently, I have written:
" (School name), (city, province)
Will be in grade 11 in the fall. "
^Does that sound awkward to you or is it fine? How would you word it?
2. For my work experience section, I want to put that I work at my dad's business. Usually I just do filing and shredding paper, but I wanted to make it sound more significant (lol) so i have:
" (Company name)
2005 - Present
Odd jobs around the office, including document disposal and organizational and filing work. "
^Does that make sense?
Thanks guys! :) Easy questions if you have experience, right? :)

Question #3: How do you ask for a job properly?
Ok, so im looking for a summer job. Im 14 and am looking for my first job. I want to call the company that my dad works for and ask there if they have any jobs available. Its a company that packs and distributes poultry and stuff. But I would rather work in like the office making copies, answering the phone shredding paper and stuff. Anyways, what should I say specificly to the person that answers my call? Are you guys looking for people to work there? or, Do you guys need more help? or what? help please!
Question #4: What is a fast and cheap way of getting rid of confidential documents?
Running a family business that does tax preparations and bookkeeping. And right now we're trying to get rid of old confidential documents. I really don't want to spend my whole summer shredding 20+ boxes of paper. When I called local shredding companies and asked about their prices, they said $8+ per box. Money which I would rather spend elsewhere.
In short, is there a cheaper way of getting rid of all this paper that is legal?

Question #5: Lying Coworker is Unbelievably Lazy?
Two months ago the company I work for hired a young administrative assistant to cover the morning shift. On her first day she made a comment about a coworker's name. It was poorly received to say the least. We figured it was unintentional and just a case of bad nerves. Now in her third month, the office staff is becoming increasingly upset at her inability to finish projects on time. When it's time for shift change, we find her still seated at a messy desk with the radio playing. She does not inform the evening assistant of her work schedule, nor does she make accommodations: like moving her project to the spare office if she plans to work overtime. Can I add that we equally get the same amount of work -- so it's not like she's pressured. Our office is pretty laid back.
The staff is paid from the time they clock in on their desk computers until the time they log out at the end of the night. So with her "hogging" the desk area, the evening assistant has to wander around aimlessly until she logs out, and he usually has to stay late to make up his hours. That, or explain to HR why the computer says he is 15 minutes late to work everyday when he actually arrived on time.
She is really rude and snickers a lot when confronted . She has weird way of turning things around and making it look like you have the problem. She lets the lies roll right off her tongue in front of the supervisor, too. And she doesn't care much. "I don't give a f**k about these papers.," is what she said one morning before getting 5 hours worth of pay. For pretending to be busy! There was backed paperwork waiting to be filed for over two weeks until I finally took the initiative. All it took was 10 mins! She's too lazy to shred confidential paperwork or call on someone to do it, so she let it pile up under the desk in the recycle bin. Speaking of her desk, it looked (until I vacuumed) like someone threw a frat party underneath it! Just filthy.
For someone that can never finish her work on time, she always finds the time to act like Martha Stewart. Making the staff run through the office like headless chickens because she moved important records (that she doesn't use, of course!) and other office materials to Outer Mongolia.
I like my job ... but I swear the office is turning into a toxic wasteland quickly. The supervisor's sanitized, 'lets hold hands' speech is definitely NOT helping the problem. What else can be done?

Question #6: Why do I always suspect my husband of cheating?
I don't know why... but my husband is very suspicious around me. He says he isn't, but he definitely is. He never calls his mom in front of me, and when she does call he won't answer in front of me. He always says " oh we're busy, I'll call her tomorrow". He gets constant calls (about 8 a day or more) from 800 numbers.... and this one 414 number. We do have a few debts so when he says they are bill collectors, they very well could be. He does EMS and sometimes he comes home late for work. I used to work at the same company and I know that at times I'd be 3 hours late coming home. Usually when he takes a shower, he brings his cell in there with him(I do the same so I don't miss important calls). He also brings his laptop but he uses it to play music. I never go on his laptop or through his phone. I have went through his phone before and it always starts fights so I stopped doing it. A lot of times there were hurtful things on there. Him flirting with his co-worker, his mom texting him about divorce papers being in(We've since healed our marriage and shredded them months ago). He moved 1 hr 10 mins away from his mom. He moved 1 hour 45 mins from his job. He didn't want to give up his job or friends or even college for new ones. He killed the car in mileage for 2 years, then finally got laid off from his one job. I got him hired down here, so he finally quit the other one. He tries to say he "quit" that job for me... but i'm sorry. when you move, you accept the fact that you need to find new friends, new jobs, and what have you. He always puts it on me though. He still isn't very accepting of going to school down here or making friends. He throws a fit anytime i bring it up. Our pastor, aka our marriage counselor, said for him to permanently "delete" that girl the he flirts with from his life. He still hasn't. Anytime i mention her he bursts out into anger. She got married and texted him right after. He said he doesn't want to get rid of her because thats His "best friend". I thought i was his best friend? "Oh you know what i mean hun" is his excuse. When his phone rings, I don't answer it. I'm scared he will get mad at me for answering it. I mean, I am his wife after all, but I want to respect his privacy. I do believe in whats yours is mine though. Other than these things, there really hasn't been that many issues. We are definitely in love more than ever... but he just lies all the time, even about stupid things that don't matter. I was cheated on in a previous relationship and always told myself I'd never marry a cheater. Well after we got married he told me he lied about it and used to cheat all the time, but he grew out of it. Why do I always think he is cheating? Why do I never feel like I have enough of his heart? Could it be because of his lies and deceit? Could it be because I'm scared to get cheated on again? I know his family hates me... and that already makes him love me less. I can never go to any family functions.... and he never says anything about it. He doesn't always make me feel like a queen. He barely listens to me. He never listens to my advice. He only wants to do what he wants to do and doesnt care about my desires, plans or dreams. Its like he still thinks he is single. I really dont know what to do. Maybe if i get him to have the mindset of a husband instead of a single man, things would be better. Who knows how id do that though. I could sit and write here all day. But the point is... I dont feel treasured. I feel taken for granted way too often. It's almost like that book/movie. "he's just not that into you"..... only this one married me, then realized it. It sucks and hurts but i love my man and dont even believe in divorce if i wanted to. How do I get him to be more honest? really, i think if he wasn't so suspicious, I wouldn't always assume the worst. I know they say if someone thinks someone is cheating, its usually because the other person is and they are self conscious about it. Honestly, I am not cheating. I'm very faithful. I just wish he even cared enough about me to put a real ring on my finger. He'd rather waste money on video games. I'm a very gorgeous thick mid 20 year old woman. I have gained about 10 pounds recently... but this has been ongoing for quite some time idk. What do you think? advice? suggestions? tips to get him to love me more?
Thanks everyone,
goodnight!
I just wanted to re-iterate that to my knowledge has had NEVER cheated on me before... but he said he was a manwhore to his ex's in the past.
I've talked to him and our pastor about all of these issues. The pastor put everything on me. I don't know why. Anyway, my husband definitely has self esteem issues. I always tell him confidence is sexy, etc, etc. and always try to lift him up and make him see what I see.
I know he's not cheating now. But I dont know if he did before or not. We just moved. But for some reason, anytime he brings up a female partner, and talks about her all the time.... I just don't like it. It makes me un-easy. I do have self love and whatever else, I'm just too optimistic that it sometimes blinds me and causes me to be naive.
Thank you all for your advice. I just wish he'd tell the world about me on his websites(even though our status is "married" on them) & buy me a real wedding ring. Our marriage is only as strong as our ring! <3 Fake rings = flimsyness

Question #7: What do Paper Shredding companies do with all their shredded paper?
I've been wondering about this a lot lately. Does it go to a land fill or is it recycled somehow?
Sounds like a profitable business. Charege to shred then sell to be recycled. Is this the case?

Question #8: Is this script interesting? Funny? Or sucky? First one to answer honestly gets 10 points.?
(Natasha is sitting in the office with a man interviewing for a new job)
Interviewee: So that’s why I’ll need ten weeks vacation up front and a tanning booth in my cubicle.
Natasha: Get the hell out of my office.
(Interviewee walks away)
Interviewee: I’m suing this place for discrimination!
Natasha: If only our judicial system covered lizards. Send in the next applicant!
(A young woman (Aya) walks through the door)
Aya: Hi, my name is Aya!
Natasha: Right, it says here on you resume that you graduated from college three times
Aya: The more the better.
Natasha: You have a PhD in psychology; masters in art history and have been a practicing neurosurgery for…30 years?
Aya: It’ll be 31 next week.
Natasha: And apparently you save orphans from burning buildings on the weekends
Aya: I do what I can
(Natasha and Aya exchange glances. Natasha has a “are you serious?” look on her face and Aya has a completely relaxed, unfazed expression on her face.)
Natasha: I…
(Takari bursts through the door)
Takari: Natasha! Come quick! Miroshi got caught in the paper shredder!
Natasha: Just make sure you empty the bin when he's done
(In the copy room, Miroshi’s tie is stuck in the paper shredder. Rakashi is standing around, slurping on his soda.)
Miroshi: Don’t just stand there! Do something!
(Rakashi presses the shredder button and it starts shredding Miroshi’s tie)
Miroshi: Stop you idiot!
(Miroshi gets closer and closer to the shredder’s teeth)
Takari: Oh no! The button is jammed!
(Aya takes a knife from her bag and cuts the tie. Miroshi falls back and gasps for air)
Takari: Wow, that’s a big knife!
Rakashi: *Sluurp *
Miroshi: Yeahh, *gasp * why do you have that? *gasp *
Aya: (acting cute, innocent) Well * sniff* there are just so many big, mean men in the world. Sometimes I just get soo scared.
Takari: I know exactly what you mean. This one time, a guy cut in front of me in line. And I wasn’t waiting in line for just anything; I was waiting for the midnight release of Juiko Mori IX! So I followed his ass into a dark alley and beat him unconscious!
Miroshi: How does that have anything to do with what she said?
Takari: Cause I am one of those scary men!
(The CEO and Natasha enter)
CEO: What’s all this commotion about?
Takari: Miroshi got caught in the shredder!
CEO: Again?
Miroshi: Maybe it wouldn’t happen if Takari didn’t jump on my back while I was shredding.
Aya: Hi~
CEO: Hello~ And who might you be?
Aya: I’m sure you’ll find out my name, if I get hired. (Stretches seductively showing off chest)
CEO: For the love of god hire this woman!
Natasha: Well her resume was complete bullOops, she is extremely manipulative, she carries around a big knife. And she’s probably going to rob and kill everyone at this company.
CEO: She’s exactly the kind of employee we so desperately need!
Takari: Can we keep her?
Natasha: I dunno…
Takari: Please! Please! Please!
Natasha: It’s going to be a lot of responsibility. You’re going to have to be her accomplice in crime, cover up for her mistakes, possibly go to jail, and you’re definitely going to have to clean the mess she makes when she kills you
Takari: I can doo all of that
Miroshi: How can you clean you own corpse?
Takari: Shut up Miroshi! Don’t ruin this for me! I always wondered what it would be like to work with a female co-woker.
Miroshi: What about Natasha?
Takari: Yes, but someone young, pretty and full of enthusiasm, not a bitter woman pushing 30, with a genuine disinterest in the well being of her employees
(Takari is thrown out the window)

Question #9: Corruption: Can you bottom this?
Banner day today for news stories that are a sign of the times.
#1. Race is on for the Texas governor election. Republican in trouble because he refuses to answer questions about rising unemployment during his term. Asked about it on live radio, he said, "It's true, we've lost 270,000 jobs but the rate has slowed." But the commentator slams him by pointing out that there were actually 350,000 jobs lost on the private sector, while 80,000 NEW ones were created -- guess where? IN TEXAS GOVERNMENT!!! Not exactly what you'd call your basic anti-big-government scenario.
Eerie was the sidelight about the 'Tea Party Independent' candidate who, according to the commentary, lost her points and position when she appeared on the Glenn Beck radio show and was asked about US Government complicity in the events of 9/11. She said, "There's a lot of evidence, but I think it is premature to say it is sure." Guess what. Her viewpoint was TOO MODERATE! Heresy!
OFF WITH HER HEAD!
Now, you'd think that double-barreled fiasco would for sure be the top hypocrite story of the day. But that would be ignoring Florida -- ALWAYS a mistake when duplicity is the subject.
#2: It turns out that there's a Florida legal-eagle guy named Freeman who, after being named business "Man of the Year" in 2005 became, with recent events, the Golden Boy of choice to clean up finance; being appointed as Receiver by the courts when all the bankruptcies, foreclosures and defaults began to pile sky-high. He's the one who steps in to stop the bleeding, taking possession of what is left and liquidates it so that the poor folks who have been scammed and lost their homes or life savings or whatever it is get at least something back after the crooks like Bernie Madoff are caught, or corporations go under leaving nothing but office furniture and shredded paper behind.
Well hang onto your hat. Sir Galahad Freeman was indicted today in Miami for like a bazillion counts of larceny, fraud, and grand theft. Turns out he was skimming all along , and took millions of dollars for himself. Actually stealing from the people who had already been stolen from! You have to admire the chutzpah, I guess. Call it "Equity Recycling".
#3: Meanwhile, I heard yet another one of those chummy TV advertisements in the new vein from some investment company or other -- all about "We know how it is. We look after you like family in these tough times", and so on. But when the name-hook came at the end, I almost fell out of my chair. No, you'll never guess. AIG.
It's the old riddle:
Q: Why do people who live next to Niagara Falls have ears that stick out and a flat forehead?
A: Because every morning they wake up and say, "What's that noise?" *hands push ears out*, and then "Oh! The FALLS!" *slaps forehead*.

I have large bags of confidential and sensitive paper documents that I need to dispose of. (e.g. bank statements, letters etc)
Shredding them on my home shredder will take way too much time. It's not practical.
Is there a company out there that will burn the papers for me...or dispose of them effectively in another way ?
(I've called the local council and they're not interested...they have no incineration facilities)
I'm based in London, UK
If you have any ideas at all, please let me know...!

Question #12: Do you appreciate your job more when you see people with worse jobs than you?
I work for an engineering company. Sounds great right? NOT. I run the warehouse and along with that come the duties of moving heavy boxes, collecting 40 trash bins full of papers to be shredded, moving filing cabinets, etc. It's a very labor intensive job. Let's just say I'm sweating and smelly by the end of the day even though the offices are air conditioned. I work alone and I work in 8 different large buildings on campus. Well, when I walk down the hallway pushing a shred barrel and I'm covered in sweat and out of breath I wonder if the people chatting in the hallway are thankful for their easy desk job sitting in the air conditioning. Most people are nice and will hold the door open for me but every once in a while there's a jerk who lets it slam in my face when I'm pushing 3 barrels at a time.
Please note that I am not complaining about my job. I love/hate my job.

BBB Flooded With Complaints On 2 Auto Auction Sites
Stars-Automart, Autoaven Sent Cease And Desist Letters
POSTED: 12:41 pm MDT August 11, 2009
DENVER -- The Denver office of the Better Business Bureau said its telephone helpline has been jammed with calls from people across the country who are asking about two auto sales Web sites that claim to be headquartered in Denver.
According to the BBB, calls have been nonstop and the BBB has sent a "cease and desist" notice regarding trademark infringement to the company because of a fake BBB report the sites link to that falsely shows the company with an A+ rating.
The two Web sites list one physical address as 10701 W. Sixth Ave, but that address actually belongs to BBB Accredited business, Automotive Avenues, Inc. Another link goes to 3925 Monaco Parkway, which actually belongs to Cintas Document Management -- a paper shredding company.
The two Web sites, www.stars-automart.com and www.autoaven.com, claim to offer sales of repossessed vehicles.
The BBB said customers complain that once a majority payment is sent via MoneyGram to a Denver address, the company ceases communication. The company has not responded to the BBB.
An Internet check shows the two domain names are registered to a private registration company in Sunnyvale, Calif.
The BBB said it sent out the warning because on-delivery and Internet auction fraud were the top two complained-about fraud types at the Internet Crime Complaint Center.
"The BBB takes complaints very seriously and does not want any more consumers to be victimized," a news release stated.
TheDenverChannel attempted to contact the Web sites without success. The phone number listed on the site goes to a recording, which suggests callers contact them by e-mail. The same section of the stars-automart.com Web site lists a James Stewart as the owner.
To protect from online scams, the BBB has the following suggestions:
• Verify any organization credentials with the organization directly, (BBB, AutoTrader, Consumer Reports logos, etc.)
• Check the company’s BBB report at www.denver.bbb.org or by calling 303-758-2100. Only do business online with websites you are familiar with and that have a positive track record.
• Make sure the website has a privacy policy. It will contain agreements on how the information you provide on the website will be used and kept private and secure. Print this and keep it in your records.
• The privacy policy may also contain the company’s mailing address. Only do business with companies that provide a sure method of contact, should something go wrong.
• Do not wire transfer any payment. Wired funds cannot be traced and therefore cannot be recovered if you are a victim of fraud.
• If you have become a victim of fraud, contact your BBB and the Internet Crime Complaint Center at www.ic3.gov to file a complaint.
Please dont fall for this and report them to law enforcement

Question #17: Paper shredding service in Baltimore?
I have A LOT of old papers from years ago that I need shredding. Most of it has sensitive information on it, so I can't just throw it in the trash bin. It's too much to do with my home shredder. Are you aware of any companies or stores in the Baltimore area that provide shredding service and/or cost?
Question #18: Moving with one male cat and getting a new kitten...too much stress?
My boyfriend and I are planning on getting a kitten sometime in the future to keep our current cat company (he gets bored during the day and tends to shred paper). I am familiar with introducing kittens to adult cats and plan on taking a day or two off to make sure it goes well when it happens.
My question is: We are moving next month . . . would it be helpful or harmful to get the kitten at around the same time? My theory is that perhaps our adult cat would not yet feel the space is his territory, and thus could potentially be more open to a newcomer. Of course, he could also be under twice the stress and would flip out even more.
Other info: He tends to be jealous of our attention, but grew up around other cats and was friendly with them. Our new place is a 1 bedroom apartment of okay size.
Anyone have any experience with this type of situation? Thanks in advance. :)
